The Waterloo High School Homecoming Dance is this Saturday Sept. 23 in Waterloo's gym. Homecoming tickets are on sale today and all next week during lunchTickets are $15. Guest forms must be completed before ticket purchase for anyone not currently attending Waterloo. Guest forms are available in the HS office. 

Dress up days for Homecoming Spirit will be this week. Show your school spirit by dressing up with each day's theme. 

Today is USA Day- Proudly dress in Red, White and Blue

Tomorrow is Viking Spirit Day-Wear your burgundy and white! Our homecoming assembly will be Friday afternoon where you will meet our 2017 homecoming court.

The deadline to sign up for the PSAT is  tomorrow, Friday, September 22ndPlease see Ms. Mori with any questions.


Picture day. is Sept 26th. Lifetouch will be here to photograph all students in grades 9-11 and any senior who may not be using an outside photographer for their senior pictures. We will take pictures in the media center first thing in the morning.

Student pre-sale tickets for the football game will be on sale in the main office on Friday. Students pre-sale tickets are $2. in the office but $6 at the gate. Get your tickets early!

Any outstanding balances for pay to play for fall sports will need to be paid immediately. Students will outstanding balances may be excluded from participation at upcoming games and matches. Stop in the main office to pay your fees today!

For those students eligible for National Honor Society this year, there will be an informational meeting today during AO in room 207.

If you would like to learn about Baldwin Wallace University in Cleveland, a representative will be in the Guidance Office during AO today. Stop by with questions, or just come to listen.

The deadline to sign up is Friday, September 22nd. Anyone who signs up after September 22nd will not be guaranteed a seat at the test, but may be able to take it if extra seats are available. Please see Ms. Mori with any questions.

Congratulations to the Marching Band who earned an excellent rating at their adjudicated event this past Saturday in Louisville. They worked hard and all their hard work paid off! Way to go Marching Vikes! They perform again on October 7th in Norton. More details to come.

Congratulations to our boys soccer team with their win over Jackson Milton last night. Also, congratulations to our JV and Varsity volleyball teams with their win over Sebring. Way to go Vikings!

There will be a community levy meeting tonight to discuss ways in which you can get involved in passing our school levy in November. Everyone is invited, students, this includes you! Please come on your own or bring someone with you and find a way to help. Without sustained operating funds, our school will not be able to continue to operate as it has. We could potentially lose many things that are part of who we are. Please attend. The meeting starts at 6:30 in the cafetorium.

Cross country ran at the East Palistine invitational on Saturday. Ethan Wise was 43rd. For the girls Regan Conner was 24th, Shelby White was 40th and Sara Scarlett came in 41st. They travel to the Boardman invitational next Saturday.

The painting of the parking has been rescheduled for this Sunday, Sept 10th from 9am to 3pm. You can arrive any time in the window. If you still need your sketch approved, please get them to Mrs. Sandel by this Friday. You are responsible for your own paint and brushes. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate this time!

Sophomore class officers will meet in Mrs. Klinginsmith's rooms today during AO to talk about homecoming and fundraisers. She is in room 306, formerly Mr. Bowman's room. 

Voting for Homecoming court will take place in AO today. Teachers, please make sure you have your ballots from your mailboxes. Votes can be returned to Mrs. Elias after AO.

Any freshman who did not get a panoramic picture from 8th grade and would like one, please stop by the office to pick up an extra photo.

There will be a freshman student council meeting in room 104 during A/O today.

County Clothing Center in Ravenna will be having a Homecoming sale for dresses, men's dress shirts, ties and shoes on Thursday Sept 14th from 3:00-5:00.  Please stop in the office to pick up a flyer if interested. 

We will be hosting a new student welcome event today during AO. Any students new to Waterloo can join us for some snacks and information at that time. Again, any students new to Waterloo, we will call you to the media center during AO tomorrow.

Sarchione Ford in Randolph is looking for an outgoing and friendly person to work the front desk part time.  Person must be available for a few hours after school and on Saturdays from 8-3.  If interested please stop in the main office to get a contact number.

Pep club will meet after school today until 4:30. New members are welcome.  $30 Membership dues need to be paid by Sept. 22.

Both the girls and boys soccer's teams played last night but were not able to pull out a win. Girls soccer is away at Springfield in Lakemore today. Game starts at 7pm. Boys soccer is home against Cloverleaf at 7pm. Volleyball is away at Western Reserve with JV starting at 5:30 and our golf team has a match at 4pm against Heritage Christian School. Come out and support your classmates!

Our cross country team had their first meet this past Saturday at Marlington. Congratulations to runners Braidyn Reeves, Nash Benton, Ethan Wise, Regan Conner, Sara Scarlett and ShelbyWhite. The team travels to East Palestine next Saturday.

The painting of the parking lot was interrupted by the rain last Saturday. I will speak with organizers and advisors and find another date that will hopefully work and remain rain-free. We will announce the date soon!

Our opening home football game is tonight against East Canton. There has been a slight change in the cost of student tickets. ALL student tickets sold at the gate will be $6.00. There are no reduced-priced student tickets sold at the gate.  Students, if you would like to purchase a pre-sale ticket, you may do so in any of the school offices for $2.00 today. You must buy the ticket at school in order to get the $2.00 price. Student tickets are for students only. You cannot buy student tickets for adults in your family.

If you'd like to help save gate costs for your family, consider buying a Family Pass for $75.00. The Family Pass gets you in to 10 games total. Please see anyone in the main office for a Family Pass.

Students: Candy Sales in the main office have returned. Please stop by if you are craving chocolate or just need some sugar!

SENIORS: Sketches for parking lot spots are due TODAY to Mrs. Sandel. Only approved sketches will be permitted. Painting will take place this Saturday from 9-3. If it is raining at 9am ,we will reschedule the event. You are responsible for buying your own paint and brushes. Our opening home football game is tomorrow night against East Canton. There has been a slight change in the cost of the tickets. ALL tickets sold at the gate will be $6.00. There are no reduced-priced student tickets sold at the gate. All tickets sold at the gate are $6.00. Students, if you would like to purchase a pre-sale ticket, you may do so in any of the school offices for $2.00. You must buy the ticket at school in order to get the $2.00 price. Student tickets are for students only. You cannot buy student tickets for adults in your family.

If you'd like to help save gate costs for your family, consider buying a Family Pass for $75.00. The Family Pass gets you in to 10 games total. Please see anyone in the main office for a Family Pass.

Students: Candy Sales in the main office have returned. Please stop by if you are craving chocolate or just need some sugar!

Freshman: We will have a class meeting during AO today. Report to your AO class and then you will be called down to the cafeteria shortly after the period begins.

Congratulations to Emily Spellman as she will be traveling to Washington DC this coming weekend to perform with the Summit Choral Society for a Memorial Day celebration. This is a great honor! In fact, the Summit Choral Society was the only choir from Ohio chosen for this honor. She will perform at the JFK Center for Performing Arts, St. Andrews Episcopal Church and they will be laying a wreath for the state of Ohio at the WWII memorial. You can follow her journey by following the society on their FB page or Twitter. Way to go Emily! We are so proud of you and this accomplishment!

Congratulations to Sydney Keefer and the boys 4x400 team for advancing to the Regional Meet.  Sydney placed 3rd at the Districts in the long jump and the 4x400 team also placed 3rd.  The boys will run Wed. and Sydney will jump on Friday at Perry high school.

1st team PTC honors went to Trevor Wise, Andrew Wise, Heaston Bard and Noah Smith.  earning 2nd Team PTC was Sydney Keefer, and Honorable Mention went to  Jordyn Jennings, Sarah Kidikas, Ben Luli and Matt Alderson.

Anyone interested in running cross country next year, there will be a meeting Monday the 22nd right after school in the hs media center. 

Attention seniors who are Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, Cum Laude and seniors who were selected as Vikings of the Month, you must bring your cap and gown to school tomorrow in order to get a group photo taken by Lifetouch. The photos will be taken after the panoramic.

The varsity softball team lost to Cardinal Mooney last night 8-1. Truly a great season ladies with many highlights and most of all great teamwork a bond that was created by this team that we will always remember.

On Friday the JV Softball team finished their season with a 22 to 1 win over Rootstown and extended their recording to 11 and 0. Mariah Francis pitched for the Vikings and added 3 singles and 2 RBIs. Brooke England had 1 single and 1 RBI. Memory Lyons had 1 single, 2 doubles and 3 RBIs. Laura hood had a single and 1 RBI. Morgan Turner had 3 singles and 2 RBIs. Maddie Duncan had 3 singles, 1 double and 5 RBIs. Mackenzie Deem had 1 single and 2 RBIs. and Lexis Myrla had 2 singles a double and 2 RBIs. Congrats on a great season ladies!

Congratulations to the boys 4x400 relay team for being PTC Champions.  Trevor Wise, Heaston Bard, Andrew Wise and Noah Smith won a thrilling race Friday night at the PTC Championships.

Noah Smith also placed 5th in the 100 and 4th in the 400.  Matt Alderson placed 8th in the 110 hurdles and 8th in the high jump.  The 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams both placed 4th.

On the girls side, Sydney Keefer had a nice meet as she finished 2nd in the 100 hurdles, 3rd in the 300 hurdles and 5th in the long jump.  Jordyn Jennings was 7th in the 400 and Sarah Kidikas was 7th in the 800.  The 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams all placed 6th.  

Both teams will run at the District Meet on Wed and Friday.

The varsity softball team beat Rootstown last night 15-3. Machayla Kehrer pitched a complete game with 15 strikeouts and hit 2 homeruns. Kerrie More also hit a homerun and Layla Lauck hit a homerun, 2 singles and a double. Kelsey More, Alyssa May, Colleen Kelly added 2 singles each. The Lady Vikings play their first tournament game at home tonight. 

The Waterloo baseball team will host Rootstown today in the last league game.  Come out and support the team as it will be senior night and the festivities will start at 4:15 pm

The boys and girls track team had a good first day at the PTC meet.  On the girls side- Jordyn Jennings placed 5th in the high jump and McKenzie Burke placed 5th in the discus and the 4x800 relay team of Kidikas, Cash, Conner and Gillespie also placed 5th.  Sydney Keefer and Jordyn Jennings qualified for finals on Friday in their events.  

On the boys side the 4x800 relayof Reeves, A. Wise, D. Metheney and Luli placed 5th, Trevor Wise placed 8th in the long jump and Alex Mazur placed 8th in the shot put.  Noah Smith and Matt Alderson also qualified to finals on Friday.

The JV Softball team advanced their record to 10 and 0 last night with a 10 to 4 win over Rootstown. Pitching for the Vikings was Mariah Francis. Francis also had a single, double and and an RBI for the Vikings. Brooke England batted a single and a double and 1 RBI. Memory Lyons had 2 double and 2 RBIs. Laura Hood had a single, double and 1 RBI. Morgan Turner batted a single and 1 RBI. Maddie Duncan had a triple and 2 RBIs. Mackenzie Deem had 2 singles and 1 RBI. Rilee Brode had 2 singles to round it out for the Vikings. Great job ladies!

The varsity softball team beat Garfield last night 26-17 in 8 innings. This was a great team win by everyone. Machayla Kehrer hit 2 homeruns and 3 singles, Amber Cieplinski hit a homerun, single and a double. Kelsey More had 3 singles and a double. Kerrie More added a single and a double.  Layla Lauck had a single, and a double and Alyssa May added a single and a double. 
The Vikings play Kent Rooselvelt at home tonight. 
 
There will be a soccer meeting Tuesday May 9th at 3:00 for anyone interested in playing girls soccer in the fall.

Congratulations to our symphonic band. Although you did not receive the rating you were hoping for, you performed beautifully and gave it you all. We are so very proud of you for making it to state competition!

The varsity softball team beat CVCA on Friday night 17-0. Leading the way was Machayla Kehrer with 2 homeruns, Kerrie More also hit a homerun. Amber Cieplinski hit 2 doubles, and Layla Lauck had a single and a double.  The girls are home tonight against Garfield.

The girls track team finished 6th at the Ernie Moore Invitational on Friday.  Sydney Keefer led the team by placing 2nd in the 100 hurdles, 3rd in the long jump and 6th in the 300 hurdles.  Mckenzie Burke was 3rd in the discus and 8th in the shot, Jordyn Jennings was 4th in the high jump and 8th in the long jump and Sarah Kadikas placed 5th in the 800.

The boys track team placed 7th on Friday night.  Noah Smith led the team by placing 3rd in the 100 and 4th in the 400.  Matt Alderson placed in all four individual events he was in and had a personal best in the long jump with a leap of over 18'.  Jon Jarrett also had a p.r. in the discus and placed 6th.  Rounding out the scoring for the Vikings were Ben Luli in the 1600 and Brian Mullins in the 3200.

The team will run Friday at Norwayne.

The varsity softball team lost to Mogadore last night 8-7. Machayla Kehrer hit a homerun and double. nAubrey Foster had 3 singles. Amber Cieplinski and Kelsey More 2 singles each.

The JV Softball team stays undefeated with 5 inning 10 - 0 win over Mogadore. Mariah Francis pitched a no hitter to shut out the cats. She also had a triple, double, a single and an RBI to round out her performance. Brooke England had one single. Memory Lyons hit two singles and had an RBI. Laura Hood batted a single, a triple and one RBI. Morgan Turner had a single a triple and 2 RBIs. Maddie Duncan had a double and RBI. Mackenzie Deem had a single and 2 RBIs.  Alexis Myrla also had a single for the Vikings. Way to go ladies and keep up the hard work!

The girls track team was defeated by Southeast and lost a very close meet with Garfield yesterday 68-62.  Leading the way for the team was Sydney Keefer who won the 100 hurdles and long jump with a season best leap of 16'3".  Jordyn Jennings also had a good performance as she took 2nd in the high jump, the 400 and 200.  McKenzie Burke placed in both the shot and discus and Regan Conner also placed 2nd in the 3200.

Happy Secretary's Day to our very own Nichole English. Mrs. English works so hard in our main office to keep our building running smoothly every single day. She always has a smile on her face and is willing to help out in any way. Thanks Mrs. English for all you do for Waterloo. If you see her today, tell her thank you!

Machayla Kehrer picked up her 10th win of the season last night as the Lady Vikings softball team beat Lake Center 7-3. Aubrey Foster and Kerrie More ripped doubles and Mahayla Kehrer added 2 singles and 2 RBI's.
Great team win, ladies.

Our boys baseball team lost to Lake Center Christian last night with a score of 8-4. Lake Centers Will Caudle and Waterloo's Trey Jones were locked in a pitchers duel with the Vikings ahead 3-1 heading into the the 6th inning.  The visiting Tigers took advantage of 3 Waterloo errors in the inning to plate 4 runs take a 5-3 lead.  Waterloo rebounded with a run in the bottom of the 6th to cut the deficit to 5-4.  Lake Center put the game away with 3 runs in the top of the 7th to close out the 8-4 victory.  Waterloo was paced at the plate by with Trey Huth, Clay Asbury and Eric Jacobs with singles.

Brooke England also hit a single. Memory Lyons batted 2 singles. Laura Hood with 1 single. Morgan Turner has a single and an RBI. Maddie Duncan had two singles and 2 RBIs. Rilee Brode hit 2 singles and 3 RBI to round out the hitting for the Lady Vikings! Great job ladies! Ladies take on the Marlington Dukes at home on Wednesday!

A strong pitching performance by Machayla Kehrer, throwing her first shut out of the season was followed up by great hitting by the Lady Vikings. Amber Cieplinski had a career day at the plate, hitting 3 homeruns,  with one of them being a grand slam and 8 RBI's. She broke the school record for homeruns in a season and homeruns in a game. She tied the school record for career homeruns and for RBIs in a single game. Layla Lauck added 3 doubles, and Kerrie More added a triple and a single. Great job, ladies. The Vikings play at home today.

Our boys baseball team played a double header this past weekend. In game 1 of the double header, the host Vikings picked up their first win of the season in a 9-5 victory.  Shane Diven and Will Wise combined to hold Heritage Christian to 5 hits on the game.  For Waterloo, Trey Jones had 3 singles, Wise, Aaron King and Matthew Deangelis all had a hit for the Viking win.

In Game 2 of the DH, Heritage Christians Andrew Wade was dominant, scattering 4 hits and striking out 12.   For Waterloo, Joe Watson and Will Wise each doubled, and Aaron King and Trey Jones singled to account for the Viking hits.

Leading the way for the Vikings were Kerrie More with a grand slam homerun, Amber Cieplinski hit her 7th homerun of the season and also a double. Layla Lauck added 2 doubles and a single. The varsity softball team got back into a first place tie by beating Crestwood last night 16-6. The Vikings were down 6-4 going into the 7th inning and then scored 12 runs to win the game. Everyone contributed to this win. Leading hitters were Kerrie More with her first homerun and a double, Machayla Kehrer also had a homerun, Amber Cieplinski hit 3 doubles and a single, Layla Lauck hit 2 doubles and a single Colleen Kelly and Aubrey Foster each added a double. Great win ladies!

Alliance Community Hospital will be offering a summer teen program for students ages 16 to graduation to volunteer over the summer months during their school break.  While volunteering in this program is not an internship program, it does afford students the unique opportunity to gain non-clinical experience in a hospital setting while gaining personal satisfaction of helping others.  Only students in the summer program will be permitted to volunteer throughout the school calendar year.

The varsity softball team beat Southeast last night 9-1. Leading hitters for the Vikings were Layla Lauck with 3 singles and 5 RBI's, Machayla Kehrer with a double, Amber Cieplinski with a triple and Colleen Kelly with a single and double. The Vikings play Mogadore at home today.

Today all students in English 9 will be taking the ELA I part 1 end of year exam.  Student should report to their assigned location at 9:50Bring a pencil or pen with you.

All student who are taking English 10 will also be taking the 1st part of the ELA 2  end of year exam.  They will be call to their location at 12:30.  If any 10th grade student normally eats lunch 5C they should eat lunch A or B, check with your 5th period teacher.  Bring a pen or pencil with you.

Pugh Farms on Industry Rd is looking for a few reliable boys ages 13-18 to work the farm from 3-5 during the week. Work will also be available on Saturdays with pay being $8/hr.  Please stop in the office to pick up the contact information.

Juniors will be taking the ACT this morning through approximately 1:30. The bells will be turned off and your teacher will dismiss you from class to class. Please remain silent in the halls and you move from one class to another as the juniors will be in classrooms throughout the building. Again, please remain quiet in the halls and respect those who are taking this test. Juniors, when you have been dismissed from the test today, please exit through the front and grab a piece of pizza and pop on your way out. If you did not have a permission slip to leave early, please report to the cafeteria.

Be sure to work on the on-line prep material over the weekend so you can be as prepared as possible. Also, make sure you get your permission slips in to leave early that day after the test is over. The University of Akron and The Ohio Association for College Admission Counseling will be hosting the Northeast Ohio Spring College FairThis event will take place on Friday March 31st from 9 to 11 a.m.  This college fair will provide high school students the opportunity to gain
early exposure to 150 colleges and universities from across the United States. Stop in the guidance office for details if you are interested.


There will be no detention held this afternoon. Any detention scheduled for today has been rescheduled and will need to be served Thursday instead.

Congratulations to our Varsity boys basketball and their win over Rootstown last Friday night. It was an exciting game and our team brought home the win over our rivals. What da ya know?, Waterloo does rule!

The Ohio Veterinary Medical Association is hosting the 2017 Veterinary Exploration Conference and College Fair on Saturday February 25.  This program exposes students to available careers in veterinary medicine that might otherwise have been a mystery.  If you are interested see Mr. Schmidt for details.

The Princeton Summer Journalism Program is an all-expenses-paid journalism and college preparation program at Princeton University, serving high school juniors from low-income backgrounds. Students learn reporting skills from celebrated journalists, report and write their own newspaper, and are paired with a counselor who oversees their college admissions process. SJP alumni have gone on to jobs and internships at The New York Times, The New Yorker, NPR, and many other news outlets. 


The application can be found at www.princeton.edu/sjp and is dueby midnight on Friday, February 24, 2017. If you have questions, please see Mr. Schmidt.



The Cleveland Cavaliers and Huntington Bank will award ten (10) Northeast Ohio high school seniors with a $2,000.00 college scholarship. Graduating seniors must submit a 500 word essay, perform a high level of service in their communities, provide a high school transcript, ACT and/or SAT scores and one letter of recommendation. Remember to continue working on your online ACT review that you started last Tuesday in AO. Complete your initial pre-test by tomorrow and there will be a small reward for doing so! The ACT will be given to all Juniors on March 21st. 


Spirit Week will be Feb. 6-10th. Grades will compete against each other to earn points throughout the week. Attendance at the Boys Basketball Game this Friday, Feb.3, the Girl's Basketball Game Wed. Feb.8, and the Wrestling Match Thurs. Feb. 9 will count for Spirit Points. Be sure to sign in at the ticket table. Dress up days will be Feb.6-10. 1st period teachers will count how many students from each grade are dressed up each day. Dress-up days are the following:

Mon, Feb.6- Pajama Day
Tues. Feb.7- Animal Day (Dress in animal print or dress like an animal)
Wed. Feb.8- Salad Dressing Day (Ranch wear cowboy, French wear beret, Thousand Island wear beach theme, Caesar wear Laurel wreath and Roman outfit, Russian (wear a Russian style hat..)
Thurs. Feb.9- Dr. Seuss Day (Be your favorite Dr. Seuss book character or wear a Seuss hat)
Fri. Feb.10 - Viking Spirit Day

Tonight we will be recognizing the statewide "Military Theme Night" for all high school sporting events.  The OHSAA is calling tonight #OhioStrong2017

Come dressed in red, white and blue and even bring an American Flag if you have one!  This is an opportunity for coaches, athletes, and spectators from teams across the state to rally together on one night for an incredible cause. We are excited to see school’s get creative to support our true heroes – those who serve in the military to keep our freedoms to participate in these very games.

Students dressed in red, white and blue will be admitted for $1.00 and anyone that brings in their military ID will be let in for free!  Let's come together as a community and support this great cause!  #GOVIKES

Congratulations to our Academic Challenge team of Nash Benton, Doug Beans and Kate Bectin who beat Mogadore and Berkshire high schools Saturday night. Way to go everyone!

Congratulations to our Boys Basketball team and their 60-51 victory over the Rootstown Rovers Friday night. It was an exciting game and our student section was fired up! Way to go Vikings! 

Our Wrestling team also brought home 2nd place this weekend from a tournament at Northwestern. Our building is just full of Viking Pride!

Permission forms for early release this week during  exam  are still available in the main office. Early release permission slips must be turned in by the end of the day,  TODAY  in order to arrive late or leave early the rest of the week.

There will be a Student Council meeting for all Student Council members during AO today. The meeting will be in the library. We will be preparing for our next Blood Drive and Spirit Week.

Ski Club will meet after school today at 3:30.

On Saturday, the wrestling team participated in the Jackson-Milton Invitational. S a team they finished 3rd place out of 12 teams and had several individual place winners. They were Deagan Foster 3rd, Joe Canter 4th, Daulton Metheney 2nd, Cole Hurd 2nd, Will Bolanz 2nd, and Spencer Schmucker 3rd. Good job boys!

The Wrestling team traveled to Mogadore last night to battle the Wildcats. The team came out fired up and scored a 60-15 victory! Deagan Foster, Joe Canter, Daulton Metheney, Clay Asbury, Nick Brockett, Dylan Metheney and Akuma Lor lead the team by pinning their opponents. Up next, Jackson Milton tournament tomorrow.

Today is our Veteran's Day assembly. If you see a Veteran here today, stop a minute and thank them for their service to our country. Seniors will be providing breakfast for them and conducting a small program. They will report back to class around 9:15. An announcement will be made when the seniors should be back in class.

There is a Waterloo Leo Club meeting right after school today in the HS cafeteria.

Today,  we will have a Veteran's Day sign in the cafeteria for you to sign. You can place the name of a loved one who has served or is currently serving in the military on the sign or consider writing a  message of thanks to any Veteran. This sign will be in place for our Veterans to see tomorrow morning. 

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held today from 3:30pm - 8:30pm. Also there will be a College Credit Plus meeting for any students and parents interested in this program. This meeting is mandatory if you are interested. It will be held at 7pm in the HS media center. 

All 10th graders who are going on the Maplewood Field Trip today need to eat lunch 5A because the trip will leave at 11:30.

All Seniors will be practicing for our upcoming Veteran's Day assembly during AO today. Our assembly will be tomorrow morning starting at 8:15am. All seniors will be in attendance.

Congratulations to our Quiz Bowl team for their great job at our home meet last night. Varsity won 1 of their 3 matches and JV won 3 of their 3 matches. Keep up the great work!

Today through Thursday we will have a Veteran's Day sign in the cafeteria for you to sign. You can place the name of a loved one who has served or is currently serving in the military on the sign or consider writing a  message of thanks to any Veteran. This sign will be in place for our Veterans to see on Friday morning.

The club is open to all experience levels including beginners and rental equipment is available. We will go to Brandywine Ski Resort five Monday nights starting January 2nd. This club is wicked awesome and a way to actually enjoy our snowy winters. There will be an informational meeting for students and parents in room 218 of the high school at 5pm on Nov 10th. Congratulations to the members of the cross country team who ran in the northeast district tournament this past Sat. Nash Benton was 53rd place with a 20:40, for the girls Regan Conner ran a personal best of 24:53 for 51st place, Viola Hauw was 81st place with 28:45, and Shelby White had a personal best of 29:20 for 83rd place.

Sept. 27, 2016

The Vikings golf team finished out their golf season with several players shooting season low scores. Last week, the Vikings participated in the PTC Tournament. The Vikings were represented by Eric Jacobs, Matthew Deangelis, Tim Hodgkinson, David Tasker, Shaun Wasko, and Jarrett Broome. Eric Jacobs took the 5th place overall medal at the tournament, while also earning 2nd Team league honors. Tim Hodgkinson and Matt Deangelis received Honorable Mention honors, as well. 

Yesterday, the Vikings played in their sectional tournament, and just came up short of qualifying for the district tournament. The Vikings finished 6th out of 14 teams. They were lead by senior Tim Hodgkinson, who shot a personal best season low score.

We had many runners run in the Sandy Valley Invitational this past weekend. Nash Benton and Sara Scarlet ran their personal bests. Other runners were William Mays, Regan Conner and Shelby White. Congratulations to our Cross Country team!

Today is our Pep Rally at 2pm. We will be on an assembly schedule for the day. Please report to your last period class and we will call you down by class. Those people participating in the assembly should report to the gym at 1:45. Band members, please report to the band room at 1:45.

The Boys soccer team played at Rootstown last night. The final score was Rootstown 4 Waterloo 2.
Goals were scored by Matthew DeAngelis and Ben Luli. Excellent defensive effort was given by Dylan Metheney, Luke Lanham, and Jake McClellan. The next game is at Louisville on Saturday September 24th at 5pm.

Congratulations to our Waterloo Vikings Marching Band on an Excellent performance and an Excellent rating on Saturday night. Congratulations to our percussion section for winning best percussion in class B. A great start to our competition season!

Congratulations to our Waterloo Viking football team on their win over Newbury on Friday night. The final score was 47-35 and some school records may have been tied or even broken! Way to go boys!

The greater Akron Soccer Officials Association is offering 3 scholarships this year.  The scholarships will be awarded to a male and female student soccer athlete and a senior who is a licensed USSF referee.  Applications will be accepted until October 12.   See Mr. Schmidt for more information.

Please see Mrs. English if you would like to order a Team Hawk, No One Fights Alone T-shirt.  The cost is $10 and all proceeds will go to former Waterloo graduate Shannon Beach whose 9-month old son was recently diagnosed with leukemia. 

We will make an announcement today to release everyone to the football field for our district picture to show support of Hawk. That will be around 1:30.

Do you want to help support our athletes and clubs here at school? Do you have a creative side? Then consider joining Pep Club. We will be meeting today after school in room 120. Come join us! New members are always welcome.

American Winds is having an open house on September 22 from 5-8 p.m.  If you have an interest in an aviation career see Mr. Schmidt for more information.

The greater Akron Soccer Officials Association is offering 3 scholarships this year.  The scholarships will be awarded to a male and female student soccer athlete and a senior who is a licensed USSF referee.  Applications will be accepted until October 12.   See Mr. Schmidt for more information.

The girls basketball team is holding a fundraiser tomorrow, Sat, Sept 10th. The Easter Seal donation list includes items such as clothing, children's toys, blankets, towels, sheets, shoes and purses. Anything made of cloth will be accepted. Bring a bag to donate on Saturday to the high school from 9am to noon.

Today, you will be following your Wednesday schedule. The times are slightly different than yesterday and there is no A/O period today.

Mrs. Sandel will be meeting will all Seniors during A/O tomorrow. She will call you down to the gym shortly after the period starts. Please report to A/O and wait for the announcement.

All other class meetings will take place next week.

Teachers, please take attendance and email it or send it to Nichole on paper. We are still having issues with ProgressBook and we are working diligently to resolve them.

Good Morning!

Welcome back everyone. We hope you had a great summer. Today, we will be following our Tuesday A/O schedule. Take a minute to take a look at that and make sure you follow the Tuesday schedule. If you get misplaced, just ask for help and someone will guide you in the right direction.

Students, you are not permitted in the halls or to your lockers before the bell rings in the morning. If you arrive before 7:30am, please report to the ES/MS cafetorium. You will be released from there to come to the high school. If you have someone dropping you off early in the morning, have them drop you off in the back at door 9.

Students who drive to school, please make sure you are parking in your assigned parking spot. There should be no cars parked up against the grass in the student lot.
