Waterloo Elementary School Principal

Mrs. Obraza

The Viking Way Pledge

I pledge to be respectful,

to be safe,

and to be kind

because this is the Viking Way!

Hello, Vikings! I’m Julie Obraza, the principal at Waterloo Elementary School.

I grew up not far from here, graduating from Stow-Munroe Falls High School. I earned my B.A. in Elementary Education from Westminster College and my Master’s with Principal licensure from Ashland University. My career in education includes being an elementary school teacher, elementary school principal, curriculum director, and literacy coach. Sometimes I also teach college students as an adjunct professor at the University of Akron. I spent time in the Barberton City and Stow-Munroe Falls City school districts before coming to Waterloo Local Schools. I’m delighted to be a part of this school community!

I live in Kent with my husband, Andrew, and three sons, Finn, Kellen, and Sullivan. Our dog, Winnie, and fish, Richie, round out the Obraza family. We’re a big-time soccer household and I get to enjoy watching all three boys play. My younger boys also play basketball. While sports schedules keep me busy outside of school, I also enjoy reading and walking the neighborhood. I LOVE the beach and chocolate (not at the same time), could probably be a spokesperson for Boom Chicka Pop popcorn, and enjoy watching Hulu or Netflix probably more than I should. Most importantly, I’m really proud to be in the education profession.

Go Vikings!
