Waterloo JR / SR High School Principal

Greetings, fellow Vikings! My name is Tyler Vallinger and I am honored to be the principal at Waterloo Jr/Sr High School.

I am from the Youngstown area and a graduate of Poland Seminary High School. I attended John Carroll University where I majored in Classical Studies. I continued my education at Kent State University for graduate school to get my teaching license and later earned my administrative license through the University of Cincinnati. I started my teaching career at Sandusky High School in Sandusky, Ohio where I taught Latin, coached football, and advised several clubs and grades. I returned to the Youngstown area and taught at Boardman High School before taking on the role of Assistant Principal at Brookfield High School.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Ericka, as well as with family and friends. I’m a fan of the Denver Broncos, Colorado Avalanche, and Notre Dame. I absolutely love all dogs, I’m a board game enthusiast, and I know way too much about Lord of the Rings. I am truly humbled by the opportunity to lead Waterloo Jr/Sr High School. I am here to assist any member of the school community in any way I can. I look forward to meeting and working with each and every one of you! Go Vikings!
