Hello, Viking Families!

Welcome to Waterloo! I am so excited to be starting my journey here as the Head Principal of Waterloo Jr./Sr. High School. At Waterloo, we strive to create an environment where students are held to high expectations while learning in a safe and nurturing environment, as we help prepare them for adulthood. We are blessed to have the support of our families and community as we share in this endeavor.

I originally hail from the Youngstown area and earned my Bachelor of Science in Special Education from Youngstown State University (Go ’Guins!). I went on to earn my Master’s in Reading and Literacy from Walden University and recently obtained my Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership, with a focus on Special Education, from the University of the Cumberlands in Kentucky. After 14 years in the classroom, I began my voyage as a Viking as the assistant principal last year and quickly found my new home. If you are new to us, I hope you find that you can plant some roots here as well.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, my cats, paddle boarding on Lake Milton, and traveling to Kentucky as often as I can. I have two adult children who are still the lights of my life, and I find that my favorite moments are when their cars are in my driveway. My oldest was also bitten by the education bug and is in his fourth year of teaching high school social studies.

I tend to view life as an adventure, and I am so excited to share this next chapter with the families and community of Waterloo Local Schools!
